Once again, we are embarking on our annual pilgrimage to Font. A climbers playground situated in the forest of Fontainebleau, 60km south of Paris. The schedule below outlines the travel dates and times that some have already booked.

Bouldering is climbing short ‘problems’ without ropes or a harness. We use crash mats as a safe landing area and if we fall, we spot each other from the ground to make sure we land safely.
Not at all! No real climbing experience is necessary. It’s a social environment where we all climb together, help each other out and keep each other safe. It’s a great place to practice technique and learn from others. There’s 1000s of problems in the forest to suit everyone.
All you really need are your climbing shoes. We’ll also have bouldering mats to carry with us between the problems. We’ll find out how may mats we’ll have once we know who’s going….the more mats, the better.
For travel and accommodation, expect it to cost between £150 and £200 per person, based on how many people you travel with. This takes into account the ferry, fuel, tolls and camping, but not food or your thirst for beer.
Catch the ferry to St Malo. The drive to Font is about 4½ hours. We normally stay at HotelF1 in Laval overnight to break up the driving.

We continue the journey to Font the following morning feeling fresh, arriving about lunchtime.
Once we arrive in Font, we will be staying at Camping Les Prés in Grez-sur-Loing. The reception is closed between 12pm and 2pm so we normally use this time to do a food shop before checking in and setting up camp. Camping costs roughly €8/night/person.
